Capture Manager (DoD)

Summary                                                                                                                                                              
The Capture Manager will act as liaison between the Chief Operating Officer and our customers. The Business Development Manager will identify, qualify and secure business opportunities by cultivating and maintaining mutually beneficial business relationships with current and potential customers. The Capture Manager will work closely with corporate executives and senior managers. The Capture Manager will leverage executive-level relationships to develop targeted sales strategies that convey a customized approach to all business pursuits.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field required
  • 7 – 10 years of hands-on Capture Management Experience, preferably worked with US Government/DOD
  • 10+ years of Military experience preferred
  • Experience within the DOD program required
  • Proficiency within Microsoft Office Suite, specifically PowerPoint
  • Self-motivated individual who can work independently or as a team
  • Confidentiality and company loyalty are a must
  • Able to interface with VIP’s, personnel, international executives, and others
  • Able to multi-task and to accept and adapt to change quickly
  • Detail oriented with strong follow through and organizational skills
  • Good writing, technical, analytical and problem solving skills
  • 75% travel CONUS and OCOUS
  • Must be willing to travel on short notice
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Government Security Clearance, Top Secret Clearance preferred
 
Responsibilities
  • • Develops capture and win strategies including business solution for pursuit
    • Performs market and economic analyses
    • Designs and executes formal capture plans
    • Monitors competitor activity
    • Executes customer call plans to qualify and assess the “win-ability” of new opportunities, and to shape acquisitions
    • Leads and coordinates competitive assessments—determines the strengths and weaknesses of team and potential competitors
    • Evaluates potential teammates to ensure complete coverage of all opportunity requirements, and coordinates teaming activities and decisions
    • Identifies resources required to pursue a bid, and guides bid and proposal activities
    • Leads development of customer profiles—including customer needs, issues, hopes, and biases
    • Regularly interacts with all levels of management, infrastructure POCs, staff, and customers
    • Prepares pipeline plans
    • Provides input to Business Unit plans and artifacts.
    • Mentors business development managers, program managers, and other employees to prepare them for customer engagement activities.
    • Ensures development of solutions that offer competitive distinction and readily executable approaches
    • Prepare and lead Step Reviews
    • Develop B&P spend plans and track all associated expenses

  • Work is performed in an office setting
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs, talk, hear and see
  • May occasionally be required to lift moderately heavy objects (up to 25 pounds) during the course of the workday
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English
