Summary                                                                                                         
The Information Technology Manager is responsible for installing and maintaining computer
hardware, software and networks. The IT Manager also provides hardware and software maintenance,
training and consultation, and recommendations about future planning and development of resources.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering or related field
  • 6+ years experience in Information Technology planning, development, and support
  • Excellent working knowledge of standard office business tools
  • Must possess strong working knowledge of: Hardware server systems - Software skills to include: MS Access, MS Windows Server 2003 (IIS 6.0), and .NET - Framework 3.5 SP1 with primary development language =C# with embedded Flash menus, JavaScript, AJAX, DHTML - Operating systems for web and database servers (MS Windows Server 2003) - Database knowledge of MS Access and MS SQL Server 2005 (note: MS SQL Server 2000 or 2008 are acceptable substitutes) Demonstrated ability to make relevant recommendations to management for planning and budgeting consideration
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with capability to utilize these to build strong business relationships with employees at all levels
  • Strong presentations skills and experience presenting to large groups
  • Change management experience, including ability to operate constructively in a changing environment, deal effectively with conflict, multiple priorities and new assignments and able to multi-task
  • Must possess analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as ability to prioritize and handle multiple priorities
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Government security clearance 
Responsibilities
  • Manage information technology and computer systems
  • Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate the operations of information systems and electronic
  • data processing (EDP)
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for electronic data processing and computer systems operations and development
  • Meet with managers to discuss system requirements, specifications, costs and timelines
  • Hire and manage information systems personnel and contractors to design, develop, implement, operate and administer computer and telecommunications software, networks and information systems
  • Control the computer systems budgets and expenditures
  • Ensure technology is accessible and equipped with current hardware and software
  • Troubleshoot all technology issues
  • Research current and potential resources and services
  • Monitor security of all technology and advise staff of security breach and/or change in password or security status
  • Identify and prepare hardware for disposal when appropriate and ensure hardware is stripped and secured before disposal

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs, talk, hear and see
  • May occasionally be required to life moderately heavy objects (up to 25 pounds) during the course of the workday
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English
